Good News Year - 2020

There’s no denying, many of us believed 2020 would be a cracking year. There was a surge of optimism in the business community with new projects on the horizon – that is, until the lockdowns began. And while there’s much to ponder and debate about the bad things that happened this year – there are still some “good news” stories we would like to share.

Business almost as usual – Like many other organisations, Infrastructure company Pensar introduced COVID safe practices across its offices and sites earlier in the year. This involved many office based staff working from home, introducing online meetings between offices, clients and suppliers, and limiting visitors and non-critical workers on site. Despite the challenges, Pensar was able to continue ordering and receiving uniforms and PPE for their teams, simply by using our cloud-based ordering system SPO. Watch kit video >

The rock we all need – for the vulnerable members of society, the lockdowns were a scary time. Endeavour Foundation rose to the challenge with fantastic resources and insightful suggestions for people with intellectual disability. They stayed in close contact by using our mail service and recently organised a fantastic “Virtual Battle of the Bands”, which we printed funky t-shirts for participants. A great way to bring everyone together at the end of a challenging year. Watch the fantastic video >

Underground progress – Brisbane launched the Cross River Rail project in 2019, and even though roads were empty, an ambitious underground rail was under construction. So far we’ve assisted with community engagement print materials, and a really cool trophy and will assist the team as they progress. Previously we’ve supported marketing teams behind the Legacy Way and many urban developments like Hayfield, Ripley and Minnippi, Cannon Hill. Watch video >

Cosgrove Book_GNY.jpg

General Cosgrove’s pen – During the beginning of lockdown, fresh from the battlefield of the Australian bushfires, Sir Peter Cosgrove completed his memoir “You shouldn’t have joined…”, a witty look back at his time as Chief of the Australian Defence Force and ultimately Governor-General. We’ve been proudly providing his personal stationery, bookplates and Christmas Cards for years, after being recommended by another great Australian, Dame Quentin Bryce.

Tonkin Gap_GNY.jpg

Huge project boom while we sheltered in place – BMD, one of Australia’s most progressive construction, civil and development companies, worked on huge upgrades for the Tonkin Gap highway WA (pictured), Houghton Highway QLD, Brisbane Airport’s new runway and the Carmichael Rail Network in Charter’s Towers this year. Plus, the NSW office hit another milestone, 20 years of service to the state. We supported BMD with printed site materials, merchandise and apparel to both remote and metro areas. Learn more >

HARCOURTS Ascot GNY.jpg

Winter rose – Harcourts Ascot emerged from lockdown as a stunning rose in this prestige Brisbane suburb. We project managed the fit out and signage from start to finish. Sure to be the envy of real estate agents everywhere, the office features marble reception and clever stacking doors to create a welcoming entertaining area for events and auctions. Watch grand opening video >

EPIC Assist GNY.jpg

Comeback kids – EPIC Assist (EPIC) specialise in placing people with disability into employment, and as we all know with so many shutdowns employment halted. EPIC supported their participants with regular contact, finding ways to maximise assistance. In the background they worked hard to maintain employer relationships and help reshape business post-pandemic, coming back strong with some of the highest placement numbers in the organisation’s history. Watch Murray and Harley’s story > This year we upgraded EPIC’s look with new uniforms and corporate wear from Biz, Stormtech, Gloweave and Van Heussen.
